Introduction

This program intends to present students with a definite and clear understanding of the different functional areas of business and catapults him/ her into a career in management . The program moulds young , rustic minds to managerial material with solid foundation on the basis of management. This undergraduate course puts you straight away on a strong footing for a deeper immersion in the study of management subjects.

On completion, students are familiar with a range of skills needed to undertake management function with relevant techniques to emerge effective managers. The business managers of today have the task of co-ordinating and integrating the activities of people, which calls for effective communications to ensure the final objective of achieving the business goals. The course intends to develop well- rounded individuals who can emerge not just as managers but effective leaders as well.

The program includes a course in communication skills, business environment, management & behavioral process, economics, business law, computer technology, analytical methods and tools related to business. Specialization is offered in major functional areas of business, which include marketing, finance, international business, entrepreneurship, bank management, and transport management and computer application in business.

Course Information

This is a 3 year program that prepares graduates for a career in management. The objective here is to familiarize students with a range of skills and techniques required to emerge future business leaders.

Some of the subjects covered in the course include Business Economics, Fundamentals of Accounting, Business Statistics, Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Corporate Accounting, Business Law, Law and Practice of Banking, Computer Fundamentals, Income Tax, Project Management and Management Information System. In the final semester students have the option of opting for any of the following as elective subject: Financial Markets and Services, International Finance, Cost And Financial Analysis, Portfolio Management, Product and Sales Management, Advertising and Media Management, Consumer Behavior, Services Marketing, Exim Trade, International Marketing, International finance, International HRM, Principles and Practices of Life Insurance , Principles and Practice of General Insurance, Actuarial Science and Risk management.

Entry Requirement

Pass in senior high school/ equivalent in any discipline.

Assessment
A variety of methods including workshops, seminars, industrial internship, industry visits and projects are used to assess the performance of students.
